Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Distancing himself from the predominant Neo-Baroque style of the Begas School, Heinemann created monuments, tombs, genre sculptures, busts and figurines, some of them inspired by the style of Auguste Rodin, and served as a teacher at the Berlin Kunstgewerbemuseum from 1889 to 1905. - Some ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
