Virginia Woolf (1882–1941), Schriftstellerin und Verlegerin. Autograph letter signed. [London], 21 November 1924. 4°. 1 p. With autograph envelope. – To painter and translator Paul Colin (1892–1985): „I have not been able to find a satisfactory translator of Jacob’s Room & today the Nouvelle Revue Francaise has written to me to ask me to give them the rights of publishing a translation of it in book form. I suppose they will provide a translator & I am giving my consent. Many thanks for your kind letter. I was much grieved to hear of your loss, & hope the next time you are in London we may have the pleasure of seeing you. I sent you a copy of my pamphlet, + hope it reached you safely [...]“. – Virginia Woolf was at this time completing the “The Common Reader“ and “Mrs. Dalloway“; the pamphlet mentioned is undoubtedly her work „Mr. Bennett and Mrs. Brown“. – On stationery with printed letterhead. – Slightly spotty and with small traces of mounting.
