John Whiting (1917–1963), Dramatiker. Eigenh. Brief mit U. Duddleswell House, Sussex. 28. II. 1961. – An den Theaterkritiker T(homas) C(uthbert) Worsley (1907–1977): „Thank you so much for your telegram on the 1st night of ‘The Devils’. And many, many thanks for your review of the play in The Financial Times. It made me a happy man. I’m sorry that I didn’t talk more coherently to you in the theatre that night. But you know what a nightmare thing it is for an author. Could you have lunch with me soon, when I can try to be more sensible.

I’m about London a lot at the moment. A note here will reach me, or a telephone call. The number is NUTLEY 269. I do hope you can manage it, as there are many things I’d like to talk with you about [...]”.
