Fine collection of letters from European painters from the late 19th century to Henry Wallis, best remembered for his first great success, The Death of Chatterton. Mostly written in French (and partly in German or English), these letters mainly deal with works that Wallis had asked his correspondents to execute as well as buying, selling, and transporting paintings.
