Beautiful letter to a friend, originally accompanying the final chapters of her latest book, the publication of which was apparently marked by difficulties: "This is the end of the book that survives my reason, which has been attacked by the stupidity of printers and the just anguish of publication. No more ink in my pen! What a defeat for Napoleonic writing! - Many thanks, dear Sir, for your comforting telephone call yesterday [...]" (transl.). - The letter can be dated based on the stationery with Noailles's address "109, Avenue Henri-Martin" that was current from 1900 to 1910. - Well preserved.
