An angry French letter to the wife of publisher and writer Maurice Delamain in which Mitford complains about the French translator for her novel who, despite closing a deal with the publishing house Plon, decided to pass on his work to someone else the same day. Mitford writes: "Comment vent-il qu'un tel precédé puisse produire de la littérature? Je suis furieuse contre lui". - An English letter to Mme Delamain expressing regrets over missing her tea party and informing her about a planned trip Mitford deemed necessary to complete her current novel due to problems with her accommodation: "I suffer from a sort of Anglo Saxon persecution, they seem to regard me as a monstre sacré which must be seen by all visitors".

- A short English postcard to Mme Delamain excusing her friend, the writer Evelyn Waugh, who is indisposed, and referring to meeting plans: "Alas Evelyn has to go straight back to London and can't be here on Monday. I hope to see you on the 23rd". - Nancy Mitford was the eldest of the famous Mitford sisters of the aristocratic Mitford family in England, who were connected by marriage to other leading families in England, such as the British Royal Family and the Churchills. The six Mitford sisters are known for their political divisions before and during the Second World War. While the third-oldest sister Diana married the leader of the British Union of Fascists, Oswald Mosley, the fourth-oldest Unity was part of Adolf Hitler's inner circle of friends, while Jessica, the second-youngest, was a communist who eloped at the age of 19 to support the Spanish Civil War. Nancy Mitford was a moderate socialist and best-selling author of novels and biographies who lived in Paris since 1946 until the end of her life..
