$ 5,402 / 4.500 €
An attractive group of large, individual color portraits signed by each of the Mercury Seven: Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, John Glenn, Gus Grissom, Wally Schirra, Alan B. Shepard, and Deke Slayton. Shepard’s and Carpenter’s photographs are additionally inscribed. All are NASA publicity photographs; Schirra and Cooper are in space suites, the other five astronauts are in civilian dress. The Mercury Seven were America’s first astronauts, selected by the NASA in April 1959 (some six months after the agency was established) to pilot space craft for Project Mercury; they quickly became national icons.
