To the publisher Maurice Delamain, concerning the publication of the correspondence of the late Léon Bloy with his admirers Jacques Maritain and the Dutch poet, writer, and cleric Pieter van der Meer de Walcheren. In the earlier letter, Maritain agrees to compose an introduction to his correspondence with Bloy and announces to send parts of the manuscripts both of his and Pieter van der Meer de Walcheren's correspondences. - A year later, when the book was about to be published under the title "Léon Bloy.
Lettres à ses Filleurs", Maritain reminded Delamain of his agreement with Delamain's wife that he and Van der Meer de Walcheren would cede their rights to the book and any proceedings to Léon Bloy's daughters, the musicians Véronique Bloy-Tichý and Madeleine Bloy-Souberbielle: "Permettez-moi de vous rappeler qu'en ce qui concerne l'ouvrage de Léon Bloy : Lettres à ses filleuls, il avait été expressément convenu avec mademoiselle Delamaire que mes droits d'auteur seraient versés aux enfants de Léon Bloy, c'est-à-dire à M. et M.me Tichy et à M. et M.me Souberbielle. Il avait été convenu aussi que les sommes représentées par les droits leur seraient versées effectivement, et ne seraient pas inscrits simplement pour amortir leur débit. Je vous serai donc très obligé de vouloir bien verser directement à M. Souberbielle et à M. Tichy mes droits (et ceux de M. van der Meer de Walcheren) concernant cet ouvrage". - Jacques Maritain and his wife Raïssa Oumançoff met Léon Bloy in 1904, and the couple converted to Catholicism in 1906 under Bloy's influence.
