The archduchess of Austria, eldest daughter of Emperor Joseph I, married in 1719 the Elector Frederick August II of Saxony, elected King of Poland in 1733 under the name of August III (1696-1763). From 1711 to 1717, she was heir presumptive to the Habsburg Empire. Her sister Maria Amalia became Electress of Bavaria.
