Extensive letter to a comrade on relations between Russia and Finland and the role of the socialists there. - P. L. Lavrov joined the revolutionary movement as a radical in 1862. Six years later he was exiled to the Ural Mountains from which he soon escaped and fled abroad to France, where he became a member of the Anthropological Society. While living in Paris, he fully committed himself to the revolutionary socialist movement and became a member of the International Workingmen's Association in 1870. He was also present at the start of the Paris Commune and soon went abroad to generate international support. In 1872 Lavrov founded the Socialist review Forward!, and used it to publicize his analysis of Russia's historical development. - Of the utmost rarity; accompanied by a portrait of Lavrov (216:164 mm) and a transcription in Russian language.
