Wilhelm Kuhe (1823–1912), Pianist, Dirigent und Komponist. E. Brief mit U. („W. Kuhe“). Brighton, 5. Februar o. J. 1 S. auf Doppelblatt. 8°. – An einen namentlich nicht genannten Adressaten: „A great many thanks for your very kind letter. I enclose a Prospectus and I need not tell you how much obliged I feel for it. I shall be most happy to give you tickets for any Concert you may desire [...]“. – Wilhelm Kuhe studierte Komposition und Klavier und trat seit 1844 als Pianist in österreichischen und deutschen Städten auf, unternahm 1845 mit dem Bariton Johann Baptist Pisek eine Konzertreise nach London und „blieb dort als Musiklehrer und Konzertpianist.
Als Leiter der Musikfeste Brighton führte er zahlreiche Werke englischer Komponisten erstmals auf. Kuhe war 1886–1904 Professor an der Royal Academy of Music, schrieb Klaviertranskriptionen und Fantasien zu Liedern und Arien und veröffentlichte u. a. ‚My Musical Recollections’ (1897)“ (DBE). – Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt; leicht angestaubt und mit einem kleineren Einriß im Mittelfalz..
