Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Focusing on mining themes early in his career, Koelle participated in the "Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung" in 1937 and 1942, was appointed professor at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts in 1949, and created the memorial sculpture "KZ-Häftling" in front of the Dachau crematorium. - Small creases near upper corners. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
