Bestätigt einem Herrn Friedrich Schafranek in Frankfurt den Empfang von 1000 Mark. - Hendrich entnahm seine Motive vorwiegend der germanischen Mythologie, war stark beeindruckt von der Musik Richard Wagners und malte neben Darstellungen aus dessen Opern Bilder mit spuk- und gespensterhaften Themen. Er war auch als Landschaftsmaler tätig. - Beschnitten (mit Textverlust).

Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Mit deutschem Gruß [...]". - Inspired by the works of Richard Wagner as well as by Goethe's "Faust", Hendrich created monumental paintings with themes from German and Norse mythology, as well as several "art halls" including the "Sagenhalle" in Schreiberhau and the "Walpurgishalle" in Thale. - A few small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
