To the soprano Anna Pauline Milder-Hauptmann (1785–1838): “I think that there is no reason why the sacred music which you would like to stage for the victims of the flood, should not be performed at Marienkirche” (transl. from German). Anna Pauline Milder-Hauptmann was promoted by Emanuel Schikaneder, who had opened the “Theater an der Wien” in 1801, in which she got a position. On Schikaneder's advice, she also studied with Salieri. Soon she gained major roles and 1807 she changed to the “Theater am Kärntnertor”.
