Both have also been recorded, although I believe that only the First is still available – at least in England. The Third Symphony of 1960 is also published by Schott’s, but has not been recorded. The Fourth of 1966 is in Schott’s hire library, but there is no printed score; this also has not yet been recorded.
The Fifth, for Organ and Orchestra, of 1976 has not been published, but there is a recording by the Aries Company of Los Angeles. I don’t know if this is available in Europe […]”. – Fricker, ein Nachfahre des französischen Dichters Jean Racine, „ist einer der begabtesten englischen Komponisten seiner Generation. Er beschränkt sich fast ausschließlich auf Instrumentalmusik. In dieser Spezialisierung hat er sich als geschickter Kontrapunktiker erwiesen“ und hat „einen unverkennbaren Eigenstil geschaffen, ohne Zugeständnisse an Wohlklang in der Verwendung schroffer Dissonanzen“ (MGG IV, 936). – Auf Briefpapier mit gedr.
