To Marquis Marc de Favrat, offering a requiem mass for the soul of the deceased Princess Elisabeth of Romania, the former Queen of Greece: "I am doing this partly out of the friendship which I have for her sister, the Princess Ileana, and I thought that you would like to know that his Requiem was being offered. May I express to you my very sincere condolences on the death of one so dear to you [...]". - Elisabeth of Romania (1894-1956) settled in Cannes some years after her expulsion from Romania in 1947, when the Romanian People's Republic was proclaimed.
