Correspondence from the great French director of "Les Enfants du Paradis" to the author Auguste Le Breton (1913-99), with whom he collaborated on various unrealised film projects, including "Les Hauts Murs", "Les Fauves" and "Les Prisonniers". - Carné discusses his dealings with his producers, including Louis Dolivet ("j’ai fait une “remontée” assez sensationnelle: il y a maintenant 90 chances sur 100 pour que l’on termine le film en septembre"), Raymond Hakim and Robert Dorfmann ("Hakim est toujours d’accord pour reprendre le plan, mais Dorfmann se fait tirer l’oreille").
One of the telegrams discusses Le Breton's film "Du Rififi chez les femmes", directed by Alex Joffé (1959). - The earliest letter is dated 20 September 1955, the latest 6 December 1982. The telegrams are dated 9 October 1957 and 30 June 1959. The undated card mentions an article by Le Breton: "Bravo et tous mes compliments pour votre article gonflé de tendresse du Film Français". - A set of varied correspondence between two important figures in French cinema, particularly in the 1950s..
