Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - A co-founder of the artists' group "Die Elbier", which mergend into the Impressionist Dresden Secession in 1909, Beckert applied himself to architectural painting. Most of his work was destroyed in the 1945 bombing of Dresden. - Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
