An Herrn Schmitz: „[…] Here I am again, back on these fine German Territories, and about to see my dear friends Mr. Franz Schwitz, and his wonderful family. I’m sure that Trummy [sein Trompeter] and I will want to buy some Lip Salve from you the day we arrive. I would like to buy $500 worth to ship home. Your salve is part of me, and that’s the way its [sic] going to be until I die. I have all the confidence in the world in your Lip Salve. So has every musician, all over the world whom I have given a box to when they have difficulties with their chops. (I mean their lips). Ha. Ha.
