Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Sehr geehrtester Doctor, ich erfülle Ihren Wunsch! Wenn Sie in diesem Jahr zwischen Mai u. October nach Leipzig kommen, werden Sie wahrscheinlich sehr interessante Ausstellungen von Handschriften in Original u. Facsimile auf der grossen 'Bugra' d. i. die Weltausstellung für Buchgewerbe finden [...]". - Serving as director of the Königliche Akademie für Graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe in Leipzig since 1901, Seliger initiated the famous 1914 "Ausstellung für Buchgewerbe und Grafik" ("Bugra"), He created monumental murals, glass paintings and mosaics for several public buildings, including the Reichstag and the Golgatha church in Berlin as well as the entrance hall of the "Deutsche Bücherei" in Leipzig.
