Charming telegram draft from Pouyer-Quertier's short term as Minister of Finance addressed to a member of his family, informing him that he is "overwhelmed with work during this discussion fo the budget" that was crowned by a "magnificent, excellent, and true speech" by president Adolphe Thiers and expressing his hope that he will have time to visit his family the week after: "Je suis accablé de travail pendant cette discussion du budget. Monsieur Thiers a fait un magnifique, excellent et vrai discours.
Je pense que cette semaine passée je serai un peu plus tranquille et aller vous embrasser tous, ce que je suis obligé de faire par le télégraphe aujourd'hui." - Incidentally, Pouyer-Quertier would found the Compagnie française du télégraphe de Paris in 1879. - On interesting lithogr. stationery for telegram drafts of the Ministery of Finance inscribed: "Le Ministre des Finances invite Monsieur le Dircteur général de l'Administration des Lignes Télégraphiques à expédier la dépêche suivante". - With minor tears and stronger browning..
