Original, unpublished manuscript of a cantata, "Clovis et Clotilde", the text of which had formed the subject of the contest for the 1857 Prix de Rome (won by Georges Bizet), perhaps here revised in preparation for Lefebvre's submission for 1870 (when he would be a winner with a different cantata, "Le Jugement de Dieu"). The libretto, by Amédee Burion, forms a series of recitatives, arias and ensembles telling the story of the conversion of King Clovis to Christianity though his wife Clothilde and Bishop Rémy.
- Lefebvre wrote for orchestra, organ, and piano, as well as chamber music, operas, ballets and one symphony. He was awarded the Prix Chartier twice (in 1884 and 1891) and served as director of the chamber music class of the Paris Conservatory..
