Highly poetic letter to a friend whom Le Braz calls "Mon cher et distingué compatriot", hoping to see him again after a long time. After apologising for not having been in touch, he writes that he proclaims his salute on this meagre piece of paper: "Je tiens a vous le crié en hôte sur ce méchant bout de papier". Le Braz laments that tragic centuries will have passed since their last meeting: "J'aurais été d'autant plus heureux de vous revoir que des siècles - des siècles tragiques - seront écoulés depuis notre dernière entrevue".
He promises to visit his friend in his atelier sometime. - The Breton poet Le Braz researched and collected Bretonic folk songs, fairy-tales and legends, and played a very important role in the regionalist movement in Brittany (emsav) in the late 19th and early 20th century. Still existing today, Emsav comprises political organisations, trade unions, economic groups, and cultural associations that aim to preserve and develop Bretonic culture..
