An autograph short profile of Guitton, listing his distinctions in the First World War and memberships in literary societies, and 9 letters ranging from 1942-1958, mostly addressed to Guitton's friend, the librettist Albert Willemetz. Willemetz was president of the "Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Éditeurs de Musique" (SACEM) of which Guitton was a member, and the director of the "Théâtre des Bouffes Parisiens" staging performances of opéras bouffes and operettas, for which Guitton wrote plays.

- In the letters Guitton discusses his manuscripts with Willemetz, for example asking him to let his wife read the piece "La Rosse" without mentioning who wrote it: "Il me serait agréable que vous la donnez en lecture a Madame Willemetz ..(sans lui dire le nom de l'auteur..)... Because .. antécédents!!". Another time, Guitton warns Willemetz, after thanking him for his intelligent feedback on his play, not to follow the current taste of the public too much: "Vous m'avez dit des choses particulièrement intelligentes sur ma pièce - mais je vous mets en garde contre cette tendance á 'L'eau de rose' - qui, d'après vous, serait le gout actuel en public". Issues such as the naming of plays or their genre affiliation are also discussed. - Jean Guitton was a French dramatist, librettist, and screenwriter, who wrote over 30 films and 60 theatre plays in Paris. His most famous works are the movies "Forty Little Mothers" (1940), "Jim la houlette, roi des voleurs" (1926), and "Femme sans passé" (1948)..
