He studied in Paris under Marguerite Long and became famous in Europe through is concerts. Gelber has worked with famous orchestras all over the world such as the Berliner Philharmonie, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
He plays a Classical and Romantic repertoire and is counted among the best interpreters of Johannes Brahms..
