Letter in French to Monsieur Koreff (i. e. David Ferdinand Koreff) regarding a dinner which Eugène Scribe and Boutet will have the next day, hoping it will be possible for Koreff to attend: "Scribe vient dinner demain avec moi, je compte aussi sur vous Monsieur, si vous n'avez point d'engagement qui contrairi la plaisir que me pormet cette petite réunion [...]". - Recommended by Louise Contat, Mademoiselle Mars joined the Comédie-Française in 1795 and remained an active member for 33 years.
Her beauty and talents soon placed her at the top of her profession. She also trained actors like Charlotta Eriksson and Emilie Högquist. Scribe wrote starring roles for Boutet and she "openly professed her partiality for Scribe, whom she said gave her her 'mots'" (Ainsworth, Harrison: The new monthly magazine and humorist. London: Chapman and Hall, 1847, p.75). - A tear due to opening of the seal..
