About theatre productions on works of Lord Byron: "The Manfred produced at Drury Lane Theatre a few years ago was a revival of Byrons poem with certain omissions and compressions as played at Covent Garden some thirty years previously. My contribution to Drury Lane consisted of my adaptation of Faust which has been printed by M Lacy [i. e. Thomas Hailes Lacy, 1809-73] the theatrical publisher of the Strand and also of the Doge of Venice a combination of Byrons Tragedy, and that of Casimir Delavigne with some additions of my own but that play has never been published P.S.
