An „Carola v. Gästern“, die ihm wegen einer zu vermachenden Erbschaft schrieb „In a word, I have a considerable fortune and no heir“: „Words cannot express my appreciation for this most generous offer. Regrettable, however, I have in my own home a similar problem to that you have expressed in connection with your castle. […] It is awkward and painful for me to go into much detail here in this letter regarding the nature of these manifestations, but one example, which I’m sure you will appreciate, is an unaccountable and strange odor of cigar smoke which, from time to time, mysteriously permeates the house.

This is quite astounding, since neither my wife nor myself nor my children smokes. Another illustration of the phenomenon is the mysterious appearance of screenplays resting on the floor outside my bedroom door like shoes waiting to be polished. The phenomenon always arrives in pairs, each on containing rather similar subject matter, i.e., one would never finda pair of shoes made up of one black, one brown. These screenplays are obiously the work of a very skilled ghostwriter, hoping to have me polish his scripts. […]“ - Der Schriftsteller Winfried Bornemann (geb. 1944) ist bekannt für Bücher mit seinen Juxbriefen an Unternehmen, Prominente und Behörden samt deren Antwortschreiben. Das erste Buch „Zu Schade … zum Wegradieren“, das er zusammen mit seinem Schwager verfasste, enthält neben humorvollen Zeichnungen nur wenige dieser Briefe. Für das Buch „Bornemanns lachende Erben“ (1985) schrieb Bornemann unter dem Pseudonym „Carola von Gaestern“ verschiedene Prominente an, um diesen das Erbe jener fiktiven Witwe eines reichen Unternehmers in Aussicht zu stellen. 1988 erschien sein Buch „Glanz & Gloria. Eine Brief-Aktion mit internationalen Stars“..
