Rezept auf seinem Briefpapier. - Sir Thomas Spencer Wells war ab 1877 Professor für Chirurgie und Pathologie am Royal College of Surgeons of England, zu dessen Präsident er 1883 gewählt wurde. Von 1863 bis 1896 war er Leibchirurg der Königin Victoria. "Wells specialized in obstetrics and ophthalmic surgery. He is recognized as a pioneer in abdominal surgery and is notable for having perfected ovariotomy. He was also one the earliest surgeons to make use of anaesthetics in operations.
