Amicable letters to the composer Jules Massenet (1842-1912) about upcoming performances, invitations and opera tickets. - Requesting one or two tickets for the premiere of his 1889 romantic opera "Esclarmonde": "J'ai un très vif desir d'assister à la première répresentation d'Esclarmonde. Voulez-vous me permettre d'avoir recours à votre toute puissante intervention pour obtenir une ou deux places? [...]" (Hotel Sentio, [May 1889]). With embossed gilt motto "Invictus maneo". - An invitation to lunch, mentioning a train to London she has to catch in the afternoon: "C'est avec le plus grand plaisir que j'ai reçu votre petit bleu et je serai enchantée de vous voir chez moi Lundi à 1 heure et ½ [...] Je dois prendre le train à 4 heures pour Londres [...]" (162 Boulevard Malesherbes, no date).

J'aime mieux travailler le matin si c'est possible [...]" (Hotel Ritz, [postmark: 5 Sept. 1903]). - Hoping to rehearse the air "Hérodiade" from Massenet's eponymous opera for her performance the following Sunday: "Je veux vous demander une faveur. Je chante au Concert Lamoureux le Grand air d'Hérodiade dimanche prochain et je viens vous demander s'il y'a moyen de le repasser avec vous [...]" (9 Rue de Prony, [postmark: 15 May 1893]). - Scheduling a rehearsal of "Sevillana" from Massenet's opera comique "Don César de Bazan" (1872), a piece she is confident to sing well, given her enthusiasm: "Quand votre petit mot est arrivé toute à l'heure, je travaillais 'Sevillana'. Je crois que je le chanterai bien. Je l'espère car je suis enthousiaste.
