Carte de visite signed "Mille bons souhaits" by French painter and ceramic artist José Frappa, father of the film critic and screenwriter Jean-José Frappa. He painted satirical works on the clergy and created terracotta and sandstone sculptures. His most famous works are "Phryné" (1903) and "Le Cardinal" (1904). Frappa exhibited at the "Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts" in Paris form 1890 onwards and was a member of the "Société des Artistes français" and the "Société nationale des beaux-arts". He became a knight of the Legion of Honour in 1898 on the occasion of the Brussels International Exhibition of 1897.
