A collection of four letters, two to the stage director Eugène Rousseau to cancel rehearsals at the Théâtre des Variétés due to indigestion (dated May 29) and migraine (dated "Vendredi matin"). - In a letter to a friend named Léon, Bazin asks for tickets to a play. - A charming letter to a close friend addressed as "petit Père" is worth quoting in full: "Lequel de nous deux devait poser ? hein ?... Tu n'as donc rien de sérieux ? Quand viendras.tu réparer cette cascade ? Fais-moi donc savoir par une légère missive, poste pour poste quand tu viendras donner séance à ton camarade". - Occasional minor stains and minimal foxing.
